Blackboard Maintenance

We apologize for the inconvenience, but the Learning Management System (Blackboard) will be unavailable for SCHEDULED maintenance on Sunday, September 20th from 2AM MDT to 6AM MDT. The Blackboard Managed Hosting team will be executing performance tuning procedures on their back-end infrastructure. This maintenance window will last from 2AM to 6AM MDT and during this window, service interruptions may occur for all systems. Blackboard E-mail Messages

E-mail messages sent from Blackboard are being flagged as junk mail by BearMail, which is managed by Microsoft. Microsoft has been made aware of the issue and is working toward a resolution to whitelist the e-mail messages sent from Blackboard. Until then, there are 3 options available to students:


1. Check your junk folders to check for false positives and clean them out on a regular basis.


2. Disable junk e-mail filtering by selecting Options->Junk E-Mail->Select radio button "Don't filter junk e-mail".


3. Create e-mail contacts and select Options->Junk E-Mail->select checkbox "Also trust e-mail from my Contacts" which is below the Safe Senders dialog box. Contacts can easily be created from e-mails received from other users by selecting the e-mail message, right-clicking on the sender's e-mail address and choosing “Add to Contacts...” The firstname and lastname need to be filled in, but those are the only mandatory fields.

Blackboard Services Restored - September 7th

Blackboard Hosted Support has advised that services have been restored to the University of Northern Colorado Blackboard Learning Management System. Additional details of the cause and resolution will be provided by the Hosted Support team once they are available.

Blackboard System Outage - September 7th

The University of Norther Colorado Blackboard support team was notified at approximately 7:32am on September 7th of a system outage causing intermittent availability of the Blackboard Learning Management System. We are working with Blackboard Hosted support to identify and restore the availability of Blackboard.

Blackboard System Outage - September 6th

The University of Norther Colorado Blackboard support team was notified at approximately 10:00pm on September 6th of a system outage causing intermittent availability of the Blackboard Learning Management System. All services were restored by the hosted support team by 11:20pm on September 6th.

Blackboard System Update

Blackboard Managed Hosting Engineers have corrected the outage and restored access to the hosted Blackboard system.
